Spring Family Photos with Erin of Hello Pinecone Photography

I apologize that it has been so long since my last post but I promise this one will make up for lost time. Below are a few of my favorite photos from our mini session with Erin of Hello Pinecone Photography. I stumbled across Erin's work on On to Baby and started following her on Facebook late last year. We wanted to book her for our holiday photos but couldn't manage to get to LA in time so I waited for her to announce her spring mini sessions and booked immediately. I love Erin's use of light and the fact that her subjects seem so natural and at ease. All the waiting and the 6+ hour trek to LA was well worth it. Topanga Canyon was in full bloom, Parker was in a good mood and my floral crown didn't look cheesy in photos. That's all a mama can ask for! Enjoy :) I hope we can make it to LA this winter for another session.

SoCal Candy Buy Backs

Such a great way to unload the mounds of candy you will have at your house after trick or treating! Good tip Red Tricycle.

Once trick-or-treating ends, do you look at that big pile of Halloween candy and wonder how you’re going to keep your little one (or yourself) from eating it all? We thought so! For families looking for an alternative to sugar and want to teach their kiddos about doing something positive for the community, consider participating in the Candy Buy Back Program. Participating dentists and orthodontists throughout Southern California will purchase unopened candy from trick-or-treaters for $1 per pound. The dentists then coordinate with shippers to send the candy to Operation Gratitude, which sends thousands of pounds of candy to the troops overseas.

Brunch at Candelas in Coronado

Once a month our friend H comes to visit from Denver and, because of the recent baby boom in our circle, this has become the only time everyone gets together. Sad? Yes, but that's just the reality of having 5 newborns around. As fun as it is to let the babies get together, the idea of packing clothes, food, breast pumps, husbands, etc. is enough to make any mama tired. But let's get to the point shall we? We went as a big group to Candelas in Coronado for brunch. The food was so-so (for $30 a head there is definitely better Mexican food places in San Diego) but the view of downtown from across the bay was spectacular! We were able to park all 3 strollers at our table which is a minor miracle and service was good. After the guys got drunk off the bottomless mimosas and everyone loaded up on french toast and tacos al pastor, we went for a walk around the ferry landing which is always good for people watching. I can't wait until the babies get bigger and we can put them in a peddle car!

[Best thing on the brunch menu. Fresh tacos al pastor. The habanero sauce was too hot for me!]

Meet Parker

This is Parker. He is a super social, rambunctious 4 mo old boy. Parker loves to take photos, dress impeccably, roll around on the floor and go on adventures in and around San Diego. I am starting this blog as a journal for how he has changed our lives and hope that he and his many adventures will find their way into yours.
