Happy 3 Year Anniversary - A Public Loveletter for Tuan

Three years ago I put on a white dress and married my best friend. We stood in front of God, our friends and family and promised to love each other unconditionally until death do us part. It's unbelievable how quickly this last year has gone by and how our relationship has changed since Parker has come into our lives. More playdates at the park and parties that end at 9 PM, less drinking and late nights out. More night time diaper changing and bottle making, less sex. More time spent planning Parker's meals, less time cooking gourmet meals for two. More time at the zoo, no time spent traveling abroad. Parenthood has certainly changed who we are and our priorities but I wouldn't have it any other way. Tuan, you are an incredibly hands-on dad and the best partner I could ask for. Thanks for making Friday coffee date nights a priority and for always being here for me and Parker.

Conversations with My Husband: Starbucks WiFi

At the Starbucks drive through window waiting for our coffees this weekend. Tuan is looking at his phone.

Me: What are you looking at?

Tuan: Porn

Me: **giving Tuan the WTF look**

Tuan: What? Free wifi.

For the record he wasn't actually looking at porn (I think). There's never a dull moment with this guy.

Conversations with my Husband - PET Material

Yesterday, we stopped by Brother's Provisions for some chips and went to Webb Park again because we can't get enough of these two places. On our way to the park...

Tuan: This chip container says it's made out of pet material.
Me: What? Like animals??? Or like leftover animal product stuff.
Tuan: I don't know it says pet!
Me: That is crazy.

I'm sure we are not the only fools who have been perplexed by this labeling on plastic boxes. I was totally grossed out for a bit but now I know. Now I know.

Last week Parks wanted to take some photo so I made crazy faces while he snapped away on Tuan's phone. Now my sneaky husband is holding the photos ransom. Well two can play this game!

Conversations with my Husband: Misheard Lyrics

As we were heading to Tacos El Gordo for dinner last night, the song "Chandelier" came on the radio.

Tuan: I didn't think it was chandelier. I thought she was saying sugary leaves...and I thought it was Rihanna.

Me: Sugary leaves??

Hahaha. Tuan is the best. He was on to something though because Sia did originally write the song for Rihanna. Happy Hump Day, everyone!

Conversations with My Husband: African Rhythm Dancing

Yesterday on the way home from dinner.

Tuan: Don't forget to pay Co 4 (Tuan's aunt that watches Parker) tomorrow
Me: Okay I'll swing by the bank on our way over tomorrow morning. Do you have a ten?
Tuan: No but I have a $5
Me: Cool I'll take your $5. I think I have a $5 in my wallet.
Tuan: You're going to have to dance for it
Me: Haha ok. Like what? African rhythm dance?!
Tuan: *eyes go big* Yes.
Me: *silent*
Tuan: I bet you didn't think I would agree to that huh? You better YouTube it.

FML. Why did I have to open my big mouth? What possessed me to throw out African rhythm dance? Ahhh it's no joke. It is an art and I am going to do a terrible job replicating any of these moves.
