Preschool Backpacks for Boys

I CAN'T BELIEVE PARKER IS STARTING PRESCHOOL SOON. Yes, I meant to write that in all caps. My baby is turning into a bona fide little boy. We're a little over a month now from the beginning of preschool so I've started doing research on things I think Parks will need. 2015 Summer Beach Looks for Boys

Our Cabo vacation flights and hotel are officially booked! I can't wait to spend a few relaxing days with some of my most favorite people in Mexico this summer. Now that the big stuff is out of the way, it's time to plan all the little (and not so little) details. On the to do list: work on the itinerary, get Parker a passport, look into travel gear for kids and, the best part of all, plan our outfits. I can just see little man splashing in the pool or hanging out on the beach in any of these outfits. I'm so excited for this big 30th birthday trip!

Cotton On Kids Circus

I'm beyond thrilled that Cotton On Kids has finally arrived in San Diego. No more driving to Irvine to shop their clothes! I'm not sure when the Fashion Valley store had first started carrying the kids lines but I discovered it just after Christmas and prompted spent $$ on some awesome after Christmas deals. My favorite item is their cuffed pants. They are comfortable, stylish and come in cool colors. 

Cotton On is having a special event to promote their store and circus collection this Saturday, Jan 17. If we did not already have plans to go to Disneyland, I would totally attend.

Christmas: Outfit Planning for Family Photos

Last year, we took a cute photo of Parker for our holiday cards and called it a day. I had just discovered Hello Pinecone Photography and we missed Erin's mini sessions by a week. A week! Ugh. Fast forward one year, this mama was determined to get glammed up to have our holiday photos taken by Erin. Outfit planning for holiday our mini session with Erin was fun. I started with finding a color scheme that hinted at holidays without screaming CHRISTMAS. Once that was decided on, I found the perfect sequin dress at H&M and Tuan and Parker's outfits fell into place. I love the detail on the J Crew sweater Tuan wore and Parker's little blue coat. Halloween: Old MacDonald Inspired Family Costume

Halloween is right around the corner. Do you have your costume ready yet? This year the Nguyens are dressing up as Old (Mrs) MacDonald and a couple of our favorite farm animals! It's no secret that Parker is obsessed with ducks so he's going to be a cute duckling this year. I can't wait to see him quack quack around the neighborhood. Tuan is going to be a cow and I am going to dress up as a trendy Mrs. MacDonald. A plaid shirt and skinny overalls should be easy to find at Forever21. PS That duck costume needs a lot of modifications. The head piece is too small so I will need to add small strip of elastic to it. The feet covers are too big and Parker kept tripping on them so I will need to trim them back and resew them. The tights are terrible so I'm definitely swapping them out.

Pandas Have Taken Over Kids F/W 2014

It's official. Pandas are going to be for fall/winter 2014 what pineapples were for this past summer. They are everywhere! I've spotted pandas on shirts, pajamas, as skeletons for Halloween, on socks, backpacks, water bottles and lunch gear. The trend can be found in brands ranging from Kid + Kind and Mini Rodini to Old Navy and Skip Hop. I happen to love the graphic look of the cuddly bear's black and white markings. Do you like the panda trend?
