Cotton On Kids Circus

I'm beyond thrilled that Cotton On Kids has finally arrived in San Diego. No more driving to Irvine to shop their clothes! I'm not sure when the Fashion Valley store had first started carrying the kids lines but I discovered it just after Christmas and prompted spent $$ on some awesome after Christmas deals. My favorite item is their cuffed pants. They are comfortable, stylish and come in cool colors.

Cotton On is having a special event to promote their store and circus collection this Saturday, Jan 17. If we did not already have plans to go to Disneyland, I would totally attend.

Here's a fun outfit with the cuffed pants and star tee.

Mini Outfit for the Last Few Days of Summer

The last few days of summer are upon us. School starts again in a week. Fall fashions are out. The days are getting a little cooler.Summer camps are ending and I can work out at the YMCA park during my lunch hour again. But before I start stocking up on baby sweaters and boots, here is one more outfit for a summer play date. Nothing says summer like denim cut offs.

Pineapples are the Fruit of Summer 2014

Is it me or are pineapples everywhere these days? They are so in right now and I think it's safe to say that that they are the print to be wearing this summer. Ready. Set. Shop.

Update: Better Homes and Gardens agrees with me about the pineapple trend.

Not included on my kiddie board are:

1. This awesome pineapple silhouette tank from Geo Fox Apparel that is sold out.

2. This great womens pineapple print bikini from top shop.

3. This charming watecolor print from etsy shop SnoogsandWilde.

4. This set of yellow notecards from etsy shop mipluseddesign.

5. Let's not forget dad! I'm really into this pineapple print mens shirt from Forever21. Tuan would never wear this.

Swim Lessons are Upon Us

I've scoured the interwebz researching what we will need in preparation for Parker's swim lessons which start next month. I can't believe we are so close to summer! Below are my picks for the essentials required for a successful swim lesson experience.

Mamas: If anyone has any advice please chime in!

Sly Fox Threads

One of everything, please! That's the first thought that came to mind when I first browsed the tees on Sly Fox Threads. I love everything about this casual kids line. The tees are full of personality and perfect for rambunctious little boys and girls. Plus, they look really soft and worn in. My fave is the "I'm a Wild One" sweatshirt. I started following their FB page yesterday and it looks like there is going to be a sale over Mother's Day!

**Update

20% off everything with the code Mom until 5/11.

See that tee with the red balloon in the middle? That's a special shirt that has been added in memory of Ryan, a little boy who was tragically hit by a truck last weekend. All proceeds are going to Ryan's family. My thoughts are with them in their time of grief. I'm tearing up just thinking about their loss and what they must be going through. You can read more about Ryan's story here http://diaryofanaddict.co/red-balloons-ryan/.

New - Cotton On Kids Homegoods

I'm really loving everything in the new Cotton On Kids home collection especially the cushions. It looks like they were "inspired" by some popular etsy shops for the cloud and star pillows. I can't wait to hear feedback on the quality of the materials. To see more visit cottonon.com.

Parker's First Haircut & A Review of Pigtails and Crewcuts - Point Loma

After much deliberation, we finally took Parker for his first haircut yesterday. With Tet and his 1st birthday coming up, Tuan and I want his hair situation under control. At the recommendation of my friend Christina, we took him to Pigtails & Crewcuts at Liberty Station. We arrived right when they opened to avoid having to wait (they don't take appointments and I have been told that the wait can get long later in the day). I love how the salon is decorated with its bright walls and great natural light. Each station is outfitted with a little car or airplane that the kids can sit in. I love that it was very clean and they use baby safe hair products. Our stylist Laura was really nice and patient with Parker. He was so distracted by the steering wheel on the airplane that he did not fuss at all during his haircut. And yes, we were those obnoxious people who showed up with a big camera and snapped away the whole time. I'm sure it happens all the time because Laura didn't seem to care at all. We paid for the First Haircut Package which comes with a photo and lock of hair in a keepsake card. Total cost was $25.00 but we received $4 off with a coupon from The Bump magazine. We will definitely be back when it's time for another haircut. Thanks to Laura & the staff for making Parker's first haircut a fun and untraumatizing experience!

Kids Clothing from Color Me Whimsy

How do you shop the best boutiques in South Korea's Namdaemun Market without leaving your house? You visit www.colormewhimsy.com! I've always been a big fan of South Korean childrens clothing and I'm especially loving the bat hoodie which Parker needs immediately. Happy shopping, Mamas!

More about Color Me Whimsy

We are an exciting up-and-coming boutique, combining both a British sense of style and South Korean fashion sensibilities. Our aim is to offer you a true alternative to what the mainstream has to offer. Run by Ju Lee and Marsha Annon, New York City and Byun Young In, Seoul, South Korea - we are one global family.

We want to introduce you to what we believe is some of the very best in children's clothing that South Korea has to offer. All of our items come from small boutiques within Namdaemun Market which is not only South Korea's largest and oldest traditional market, but one whose influence spans Asia's entire fashion industry. The market's success is in many ways connected to its independent distribution system, and although most of the boutiques are small, almost all of them produce the goods they sell themselves from inside the marketplace.

We have been buying from here for a couple of years and have never been less than satisfied with the items we have received. Not only is our little one Yerrhum always comfortable and stylish, the quality of the material used is top notch and maintains it softness even after multiple washes, (my daughter loves messy play, so everything is worn only once before needing to be washed).

We have selected from the very best designers and we are sure that you too will be happy with your decision to purchase something cool and beautiful from us, Color Me WHIMSY.

Mini Me Look - Olive Coat

Happy Monday, Mamas! I'm sooo excited that this is a short week. We had our first Thanksgiving last night with my family in Orange County and I'm still sleepy from my food coma. This weekend was super productive. Tuan and Minh got the fish tank up and running and we are going to be able to add hermit crabs and shrimp by the end of the week! Woo hoo. Tuan and I also did three mini holiday sessions before the Thanksgiving party and I can't wait to look at all the photos tonight.

Let's get to the fashion now, shall we? I found this handsome man in River Island gear on the I Am Galla blog. Hope you enjoy today's mini me look!

Mini Me Look - Black Tie

You know what we need more of? Babies in suits. It's an instant way to make your regular baby a dapper baby. Surprisingly there are very few well made suits for baby boys. Thank goodness for Zara! Enjoy this black tie mini me look that would brighten up any holiday photo.

Mini Me Look - Cozy Fall Outfit

I've been told that the temps will be in the 70s for a couple more days before we are back in the high 80s this week. That's a real bummer because I'm really enjoying the chill in the air. So before it gets hot again, let's indulge in this cozy fall outfit inspired by the delicious H&M model below. The baby puffer jacket from Zara is so great that I wish we lived in colder weather.

La Coqueta Children's Clothing aka What the J Crew Baby Collection SHOULD Look Like

I wish we lived in Europe and had easy access to all the amazing children's clothing lines that seem to be in abundance there. Case in point: La Coqueta, a Spanish clothing line for babies and children. Discovering this line almost makes up for the womp womp that is the J Crew baby line. Almost.

I'm in love with all the beautiful sweaters, the cool shirts and the too-cute-for-words desert boots. Parker needs those boots now. Ready to shop? http://lacoquetakids.com/

Obsession: South Korean Hipster Kids Clothing

I used to think that Parks was pretty cool by baby standards...until I found this Korean children's clothing site. Whoa! Where did all these hipster Korean babies come from and why are they so damn cool? P has so much to aspire to. Check out some of my favorites from Showy Kids. They need to open a store here in the US.

[I could totally see a celebrity kid wearing this star t shirt.]

[Just as cool as those Swedish backpacks that have been popping up everywhere lately.]

[I wish P had this kids hair.]

[Not sure why anyone would need an across-the-butt pocket but these pants are fantastic.]

[Something about little kids in cardigans makes me smile.]

[Just too cool. Look at the expression on his face!]

[Big hipster glasses.]

[I really need this t shirt.]
