Bates Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch 2020

This year's visit to Bates Nut Farm was...different. Masks were required, hand sanitizer dispensers were scattered about and there were limited activities and food vendors onsite. It was a such a stark contrast from the year before when the farm was packed full of people, inflatable slides and vendors. To be honest, I didn't mind. I liked the toned down, quiet time we spent at the farm just checking out the pumpkins and feeding the farm animals. It was really nice for us to get out and enjoy some time together while safely social distancing from other visitors. I always enjoy watching the boys explore the pumpkin fields, testing their strength by pushing and trying to pick up the big gourds. Every time we take the boys out, we do a careful calculation of the risk and benefits of going out in public. I'm happy to report that this outing was well worth it! I hope you enjoy these photos of our annual visit to Bates.

[Gosh he's growing up so fast]

[So glad I made Tuan take a solo photo. We have so few photos of just ourselves with no kids.]

Eucalyptus Grove Holiday Photos with Sierra Solis Photography

It's crazy what one talented lady with a camera can capture in the span of 20 minutes. Sierra did an amazing job capturing our constantly laughing, constantly on the move family. I especially love the photos of the boys together. Thank you, Sierra!

Ponies and Longhorns and Piggies Oh My!

Looking for some hands on animal fun in San Diego? Head down to Ponyland where they have a variety of animals you can ride and interact with. Parker along the main road and head in for some animal fun! There are ponies (obviously), a longhorn we couldn't stop staring at, lots of goats, alpacas, pigs, and tortoises. All the animals were very friendly, especially the baby goats. We went on a weekend and there were maybe 5 other families there with small childen. The website says there is a 15 min limit for the petting zoo but we were there longer than that and no one tried to rush us out. I hope you go check out this fun spot that is just minutes from downtown San Diego. Please report back if you do!
