Harrison's 1/2 Birthday

Harrison has transformed from a blob baby to a real baby. He sits! He grabs! He eats snacks! He "talks"! It's insane. Sometimes I still can't believe that we opted to do this whole baby thing all over again but I am soooo glad we did. Happy half birthday, baby boy. You make all the sleepless nights, sore boobs, and crazy postpartum hair worth it. We love you so much!

Why has my baby turned into a booger factory?

Parker's nose has been running like a faucet for a few days now and it feels like we have been using the nose frida on him non-stop. His snot is clear and he has no other symptoms so I'm not worried about my little Booger Factory being sick. After a little online research, I think I have found the cause. Little man is probably teething! Oh boy. He has been chomping on his crib railing and his toys a little more than usual and the timing is right for his first tooth to come in. I will make sure to double check with our pediatrician at his appointment next week but I'm sure he's teething.

Here are a few tips I found on the interwebz
- The skin in baby's nose is sensitive. Try not to OVER aspirate baby to avoid irritating their nostrils.
- Give baby a little chamomile to help sooth them.
- If the boogers are clear and baby has no other signs of a cold or the flu they are probably ok. Always call your doctor if you think something is wrong.

Here are some items that can help with the river of clear boogers.

[Boogie wipes. Saline wipes in a nice scent]

[NoseFrida. You MUST invest in one of these. Works great, easy to clean snotsucker.]

[Graco Nasal Aspirator. I just purchased this battery operated nasal aspirator from Graco. A product review will be coming soon.]

Parker's Official 6 Month Photo

There's not going to be much of a difference between P's 6 month photo and his 7 month photo because we are slackers this month. Still cute nonetheless!

[He has a giant booger and we didn't notice until after the photos were taken so a lot of the photos are unusable. Winning parents!]

[Can you spot the giant booger?]

Help! My "Kids" Turned into Dogs

I remember the days before Parker when I would come home from work and greet Frank and Beans before I did anything else. We would go running together, I would give them mani pedis, feed them dog ice cream and post photos of them on my FB page daily. Those days are long gone and sometimes I get overwhelmed with guilt over the fact that I do not have time to bond with them like I used to. When did my "kids" turn into dogs? I feel like there should be a special program for pet parents who have to transition to becoming real parents. Can someone please start something like that?
